Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems is a type of psychotherapy founded by Dick Swartz. It’s a process of internal and external work that makes sense of behaviours, emotions, thoughts, sensations and somatic aches and pains.

IFS is a gentle journey into the system that is you, as internal relationships between parts grow, conflict (overwhelm) decreases and healing begins as a person is able to unburden the unwanted beliefs and behaviours that have been overwhelming the system.

Each session aims to leave a person with both understanding, awareness and with a sense of calm as without judgement chaos gets unravelled, dysregulation becomes regulated and agitation gets a rest.

This type of therapy helps with phobias, anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, OCD, lack of motivation and addictions.
