IAEBP Membership requirements for ALL Levels of Membership: 1) The IAEBP Online Members Forum It is a condition of IAEBP Membership that ALL Members (a) have joined the forum (b) regularly read the forum posts and keep up to date. Please drop me a line if you need a reminder of your password! Tick here to confirm that you have joined and will use the IAEBP forum and acknowledge that it is a private members forum and you must keep its contents private and confidential. 2) DBS (Criminal Records) Checks It is policy – as of August 1st 2009 – that all full IAEBP Members have a DBS Check. A DBS Check will last you for 5 years. These checks can ONLY be done through an ’employer’ and for these purposes, the IAERBP counts as such. Head Office is only told that you have a ‘clear disclosure’. The actual certificate goes directly to you, the member. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure you (a) have a DBS check, and (b) it is up to date. See the Members forum for more details – click here. Please tick here to confirm that you have read and understood the above page on crb checks 3) Supervision: Personal and Professional Support We have been developing a fairly soft ‘supervision strategy’ over recent years – trying to find a policy that best suits our mixed needs. With a widening mix of therapies on offer, our supervision needs are still changing and evolving. Please see here for latest policy/guidelines. Please tick here to confirm that you have read and understood the current supervision policy and guidelines For your ‘personal support’ we recommend you use a professional counselling supervisor or psychotherapist. For your ‘professional support’ (help with your clients) we recommend that you use a current IAEBP Member. Please tick this box to confirm to understand this. 4) Policy on the use of testimonials IAEBP policy on the use of testimonials is based upon the BASA (British Advertising Standards Authority) guidelines: (a) Therapists must hold (and have available for inspection) written permission, including a contact address, for any testimonials they use. (b) Testimonials should relate to the therapeutic technique or intervention advertised and should not be taken out of context or edited in any way that gives a misleading impression. If you look at the renewal form below, you will see that there is a statement about testimonials, followed by a declaration. If you complete this declaration, you will be able to use the icon and wording below on your own website (you must use both – though the wording can be in an alt tag if you wish – speak to your webmaster for more info): The IAEBP has a strict policy on the use of testimonials. Members displaying the shield shown here should be able to satisfy the IAEBP Administration that: (1) All their testimonials are 100% genuine (2) They have signed and dated permission to use each testimonial (3) The testimonial is relevant to the subject matter on the web-page it is displayed on.
